How to Pick the Best Broadhead from a Pool of Almost Identical Models
You should consider a number of factors when selecting the right broadhead from the overcrowded marketplace. In addition to your efficiency as a hunter, other aspects – like the arrow speed, extraction, and velocity – have a pivotal role to play in your selection process.
An excellent broadhead should be capable of cutting with great efficacy. It should also be stable on impact, with little to no flight deviation.
When all is said and done, you need to choose a proper broadhead depending on your skill level of hunting. Not all broadheads are created equal, because they all come with their unique strengths and weaknesses.
Some broadheads are meant for beginners who are just getting into bow hunting. Then, others are specially designed for the pro hunters who have already mastered the art of hunting with a bow.
On the same breath, some broadheads have their replacement while others have a durable construction and call for absolute expertise in handling them.
For the sake of our g5 broadheads reviews, however, we’ll be discussing what the G5 Outdoors Montec Broadhead 3/pk adds to the hunter’s table.
G5 Outdoors Montec Broadhead Brief History
There’s a beautiful history behind G5 Outdoor’s Montec broadhead. The Montec has been there for over 20 years, and is among successful pacesetters in the aggressive broadhead industry.
The Montec was launched in the early 2000s and became an instant hit upon its debut almost two decades ago. As a completely stainless steel one-piece cut-on-contact head, the Montec has revolutionized the broadhead realm, setting a foundation for the new broadhead technology that’s now being used in other models.
As we speak, many options have been unveiled besides the cut-on-contact models. We now have chisel-tip and mechanical broadheads up for grabs.
Although there have been leaps and bounds in technology 20 years later, Montec is still the best seller. The company’s broadheads have been severely tried, tested and approved to be the dependable broadheads for passionate bow hunters.
This G5 Montec review explains why the G5 Outdoors Montec Broadhead 3/pk is among the models holding the reins of power in the broadhead industry.
G5 Outdoors Montec Broadhead 3/pk. Review
All-steel Construction
The G5 Outdoors Montec Broadhead 3/pk is a fixed tip broadhead made of 100% all-steel construction for lasting performance. This tough, foolproof one-piece broadhead has a cut-on-contact nose design, which is primarily meant for hunting.
Robust Multi-tapered Blades
This broadhead comes with robust multi-tapered diamond blades whose edges are easy to sharpen with a flat whetstone for multiple uses. The G5 broadhead’s diamond cut sharpness is 100% spin tested to ensure true flight and maximum accuracy during hunting.
Easy to Use and Performance-Oriented
Retailing at $40 for a three-pack, the G5 appears to be a bit on a pricier end of the spectrum. However, the G5 is an easy-to-use, high-performance broadhead that’s targeted at hard-core bow hunters of this world.
Has Undergone all Tests
Besides the spin test, the 3/pk G5 Outdoors Montec Broadhead has undergone other rigorous testing for strength and sharpness.
It has undergone the guillotine strength test. This is a test intended to simulate kinetic energies needed for tearing through hide, flesh, and bone. For utmost perfection, the G5 has also been put through the sharpness test. It uses LUTZ and diamond cut blades that provide ethical, clean, and quick kills.
Hard-hitting Penetration
The G5 uses patented MIM manufacturing MonoFlow technology to guarantee unparalleled penetration and durability. MIM is an abbreviation for Metal Injection Molding technology, which is the latest heat treatment technology for improving strength and density.
With this new technology, you won’t need to sharpen or fix your broadhead frequently. These blades are stronger and more aerodynamic than others. So you’ll be in a better position to save your money as your repairing costs are slim to none.
Cutting Diameter
The G5 Outdoors Montec Broadhead’s cutting diameter ranges from 1″ to 1 1/8″. This means it’s capable of leaving a nice gaping hole in your prey. The broadhead causes wide blood trails, which make it easy for you to track and recover your prey.
Effortless Re-sharpening
The Montec’s strong tapered blade has an angular design, which not only facilitates repeated maximum penetration and devastation, but also makes re-sharpening a breeze.
You can easily resharpen the blade while out in the field using a Sportsman stick sharpener that’s included with the item. This makes the G5 the best when it comes to hunting.
For accurate flight, the head is lightweight and well-balanced to lend adequate wind resistance. The broadhead’s spin is also perfectly balanced for a true flight pattern and precision.

Final Thought
From our G5 montec reviews, we believe you now understand why the G5 Outdoors Montec Broadhead is one of the best there is. It’s currently selling like crazy, and it’s only fair that you join the bandwagon. Now grab this unique broadhead and go make a statement with it in the field.
The Montec G5 is the worst broadhead made. If you want to wound deer and not kill them this broadhead is for you. In the past month I have shot 3 typical wall hangers 2 10 points and 1 12 point. They were all shot from a tree at a distance under 12 yards. I shot all 3 through and through the chest, retrieved the arrows and expected large blood trails, 2 of them barely bled and the third didn’t bleed at all. I have been archery hunting over 40 years and I am so disgusted with these broadheads. I previously used Thunderheads and never had a problem, every deer I shot went down within 40 yards. I went to the Montec because I shoot a crossbow. I am going to try the Rage X-treme.
It may just be what your current set up is that failed you. not the head. Im shooting 297fps from a 28.5 in draw at 69lbs and made a clean pass through on a white tail and it crashed in under 50 yards.
